In the Bila Tserkva district, a 15-year-old girl fell into an 8-meter-deep shaft

Rescuers in the Bila Tserkva district helped a 15-year-old girl who fell into a deep shaft on the grounds of an abandoned water pumping station. It turned out that a group of teenagers was celebrating a birthday at the abandoned station when the incident occurred.

This was reported by the Kyiv Region State Emergency Service.

The incident occurred on the evening of March 30. At 7:30 p.m., the Rescue Service received a report that a person needed urgent assistance on the grounds of the inactive facility.

Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders discovered that a girl born in 2009 was at the bottom of the shaft at a depth of about 8 meters. The child was surrounded by water and debris.

Using special rescue equipment, State Emergency Service personnel brought the victim to the surface and handed her over to emergency medical personnel. In addition to her injuries, the girl suffered from severe hypothermia.

As it turned out later, a group of teenagers had chosen the site of the abandoned station to celebrate a birthday.  

Rescuers once again urge parents to supervise their children’s leisure activities and explain to them the risks of visiting abandoned sites. Such locations pose a real threat to life, and being there can lead to irreversible consequences. 

In Pivdenne, Odesa region, a man died after falling from a cliff – State Emergency Service.

As a reminder, in Vinnytsia Oblast, a man fell through the ice on the Southern Bug River.

In the capital, employees of the State Emergency Service carried out a successful rescue operation to save children who had fallen through the ice.
