In Bukovina, border guards discovered more than 60 undeclared gadgets in a car

In Bukovina, border guards discovered more than 60 units of undeclared electronics worth over 1.6 million hryvnias in a passenger car. Among the seized items were computer mice and new iPhone models.

A 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen, born in 2005, attempted to bring various electronic devices from well-known brands into Ukraine. He was crossing the border by car through the Krasnoilsk checkpoint.

Operatives from the Chernivtsi Border Guard Detachment had received advance information about the possible transport of undeclared goods in the vehicle.

During an inspection of the vehicle, border guards discovered more than 60 items of electronics. Among them were various gadgets—ranging from computer mice to the latest iPhone models.

The total value of the discovered items exceeds 1.6 million hryvnias.

The discovered goods were seized in accordance with established procedures. Customs officials drew up the corresponding report.

This was reported by border guards.

As of September 21, 2026, 7,496 iPhone 18 series smartphones had already been imported into Ukraine. The total customs value of the imported devices currently stands at $8.9 million.

At the “Shehyni” border crossing, border guards from the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment, together with customs officials, prevented an attempt to import high-value electronics without proper declaration and payment of taxes.
