42 items that may be of cultural value were discovered at the border with Romania

Border guards discovered 42 items that may be of historical or cultural value. A Ukrainian citizen born in 1963, who was traveling through the “Krasnoilsk” border crossing in a passenger car, attempted to smuggle them into Romania.

 

During an inspection of the vehicle, border guards found 20 banknotes and 22 coins of various denominations in the trunk, printed and minted from the early 18th century through the first half of the 20th century.

The discovery, which may be of cultural or historical value, was seized in accordance with established procedures. Customs officials drew up the corresponding report.

Earlier, lines of cars formed at the border with Poland.

As a reminder, the first border crossing with Romania may open in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.

Ukraine has opened a new road border crossing on the border with Romania. The “Bila Tserkva–Sighetu Marmatiei” border crossing in Zakarpattia Oblast will operate around the clock and will use temporary infrastructure for the time being. Passenger vehicles weighing up to 3.5 metric tons will be able to pass through it.
