A man who was mailing grenades in jars of jam was arrested in Bukovina
Law enforcement officers have detained a 40-year-old resident of Zakarpattia who is suspected of illegally selling ammunition smuggled out of the combat zone.
According to the investigation, the man supplied buyers with grenades equipped with fuses from frontline regions of Ukraine via postal services. To conceal the ammunition, he hid it in jars of jam.
The suspect received payment for the goods into bank accounts held by front men.
The arrest was carried out by SBU and police officers in the Chernivtsi region. The suspect is a resident of the village of Vonigovo in the Tyachiv district of the Zakarpattia region.
The man was notified of his status as a suspect under the article on illegal handling of weapons and ammunition. If found guilty, he faces three to seven years in prison.
