A woman in Chernihiv Oblast was convicted for passing on information about the TCC

A resident of the Pryluky District in Chernihiv Oblast was convicted of disseminating information via a Telegram group about the movements of military personnel from the Territorial Defense Forces and police officers. According to the investigation, she shared this information with members of a private group.

This was reported by ArmyInform.

As established by the court, in 2024, a closed Telegram group with over 400 members was active in Ichnia. Eight of its administrators (who are currently under pre-trial investigation in separate criminal proceedings) and users exchanged data on the locations of TCC and SP military personnel and police officers conducting mobilization activities.

Coded terms were used for secrecy: “green” for TCC military personnel, “blue” for police officers, and the word “clear” meant the absence of such groups in a specific location.

According to the case materials, between March and July 2024, the defendant repeatedly posted messages about the locations of TCC military personnel and police in Ichnia and on nearby roads, provided updates on their movements, and helped expand the community through which such information was disseminated.

The investigation concluded that the group’s activities were aimed at helping conscripts evade mobilization measures during martial law.

In effect, the actions of the defendant and her accomplices benefited the Russian occupying army.

During the trial, the woman fully admitted her guilt and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. The court took into account her sincere remorse, active cooperation in solving the crime, lack of prior convictions, and the fact that she has a minor child in her care.

By the court’s verdict, she was sentenced under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine to five years of imprisonment. At the same time, pursuant to Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the defendant was released from serving her sentence with a one-year probationary period. The court also ordered the confiscation of the mobile phone used as an instrument in the commission of the criminal offense.
