Construction of nearly 30 km of new road has resumed in the Dnipropetrovsk region
In 2026, construction resumed on the H-31 Dnipro–Tsarychanka–Kobelyaky–Reshetylivka highway in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Roadwork is currently underway on a 29.5-kilometer section.
On this section, specialists are performing earthwork, preparing the subgrade and lower layers of the pavement, installing drainage systems, and constructing engineering structures.
Construction of the H-31 Highway
Road builders have already begun laying the lower layers of the pavement—first with a porous mixture, followed by a coarse-grained asphalt concrete mixture. At the same time, engineering structures are being built along the route.
The H-31 is being built to first-class highway standards and will have four lanes. The estimated traffic volume will be up to 25,500 vehicles per day.
The total length of the road within the Dnipropetrovsk region is 58.1 km. Between 2017 and 2021, 28.6 km of new roadway was already built here, equipped with lighting, traffic signs and markings, guardrails, noise barriers, rest areas, and sidewalks.
After the outbreak of full-scale war, the project was suspended. Meanwhile, traffic continued to use the old section of the road, which is not designed to handle modern traffic volumes. Due to the worn-out pavement, it is being kept passable through ongoing repairs.
Once construction is complete, the H-31 is expected to improve connectivity between communities and increase traffic capacity along the route between Kyiv, Dnipro, and the southern regions.
