In Donetsk Oblast, a sergeant was notified that he is suspected of stealing FPV drones
Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Eastern Region’s Defense Sector, a servicemember from one of the units has been notified of suspicion of stealing military property under martial law. According to the investigation, the case involves FPV drones that the suspect allegedly removed from the unit and sold.
According to the investigation, the sergeant, who served as a senior combat medic in the unmanned aerial vehicle company of a mechanized battalion, illegally appropriated 16 “General Chereshnya” FPV drones that were on the military unit’s inventory and intended for combat missions.
Investigators believe that in January 2026, he stole the drones, each valued at 34,900 UAH, and decided to sell them for personal gain.
On May 30, near the Kharkiv region, the serviceman sold all 16 drones for 105,000 UAH. After receiving the funds, he was detained by law enforcement officers.
During the investigation, 105,000 UAH, all the stolen FPV drones, and their components were seized. The total amount of damage caused to the state is 558,400 UAH.
At the prosecutor’s request, the court imposed a preventive measure on the suspect—detention with the alternative of posting bail.
