Restrictions will be in place in the Kherson region over the Easter holidays for safety reasons

Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, announced that precautionary measures are being developed for Easter celebrations and memorial services.

During a meeting of the Council of Churches of Kherson Oblast, the minimization of mass gatherings was discussed, as 15 religious buildings have already been destroyed and 43 damaged in the region as a result of enemy attacks. Final decisions regarding restrictions will be approved in the near future by the Kherson Oblast Defense Council.

Among the proposed measures under consideration are a ban on believers entering churches in the coastal zone and on holding religious services during curfew hours. There are also plans to restrict street blessings and visits to cemeteries, with the exception of funeral processions. Clergy have been advised to conduct blessings more frequently, starting on Holy Saturday, to avoid crowds, and to use lower-level churches for services.

To ensure public order during the holidays, the number of law enforcement and security force patrols on the streets of populated areas will be increased. Oleksandr Prokudin urged parishioners to strictly adhere to safety rules and respond to air raid sirens and warnings of drone attacks. Authorities emphasize that these measures are necessary due to targeted Russian strikes on places of worship and civilian gatherings.

Earlier, the taxi services Uklon and Bolt began operating around the clock in Kyiv after appealing to the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) and the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) for permission to operate during curfew hours.
