In the Kyiv region, a man attempted to cross a border checkpoint in the trunk of a car
In the Kyiv region, soldiers from the 9th Border Guard Detachment foiled an attempt to illegally cross a checkpoint: a local resident tried to enter the border zone by hiding in the trunk of a car.
This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The incident occurred during a routine vehicle inspection to ensure compliance with border control regulations. While inspecting the vehicle, border guards noticed a suspicious pile of items in the trunk, prompting a further search.
Under a cloth cover among the bags and bundles, the officers discovered a man who was attempting to evade inspection in this manner. It later turned out that the violator was a resident of Bila Tserkva who had no legal grounds for being in the border zone.
At the wheel of the car was his acquaintance, who had agreed to secretly transport the man through the checkpoint.
Currently, case materials are being prepared for the resident of Bila Tserkva to face trial for violating Ukraine’s border legislation.
As a reminder, Ukraine continues to strengthen its defense capabilities along the border with Belarus, given potential security threats.
