Undeclared electronics worth more than 400,000 hryvnias were discovered at the border with Poland
At the “Shehyni” border crossing, border guards, working together with customs officials, discovered a shipment of undeclared electronic equipment that was being attempted to be brought into Ukraine.
The violation was uncovered by officers of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment based on information from the detachment’s operational units.
A Mercedes vehicle, driven by a 38-year-old resident of the Ternopil region, arrived at the Shehyni border crossing point to enter Ukraine.
During an inspection of the vehicle, law enforcement officers found the following in the trunk:
- a laptop;
- 12 smart rings.
The estimated value of the seized electronics is over 400,000 hryvnias.
According to the driver, he received the goods in the Netherlands and was supposed to deliver them to Lviv as a package.
However, during customs inspection, the electronics were found among the luggage, and it was determined that they had not been properly declared.
Customs officers drew up a report regarding the violation.
The undeclared equipment was seized and transferred to the customs warehouse. Further details of the case will be determined based on the completed customs documentation.

Earlier, at the “Nyzhankovychi” border crossing, border guards discovered a Georg Kloz violin, made in 1763, while inspecting a vehicle leaving Ukraine.
Previously, Ukrainian customs officials foiled an attempt to illegally export antiques abroad. While inspecting a female passenger’s belongings, they discovered more than 200 coins from the 16th–18th centuries.
