A Russian agent who was searching for members of the resistance was exposed in the Kupiansk region
The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, has exposed a resident of the Kharkiv region who collaborated with Russian occupiers during the seizure of the Kupiansk district in 2022.
This was reported by the SBU press service.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a local handyman who, after the occupation of the community, voluntarily began collaborating with the enemy and joined the pseudo-administration established by the Russians.
The man was appointed deputy head of the occupation “authorities” in the village of Dvorichna.
Law enforcement officials established that the collaborator helped the invaders set up “workplaces” in seized government institutions and conducted an illegal “census” of the population.
In particular, he prepared reports on the number of residents and collected their personal data.
The occupiers were most interested in the addresses of people who might be involved in the resistance movement. According to the SBU, such citizens were subsequently illegally imprisoned in a local torture chamber.
After Dvorichna was liberated, the man fled to Kharkiv. There, he settled in a rented apartment and tried to evade responsibility by “disappearing” into the big city.
SBU officers located him and detained him.
The suspect was notified of charges under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—collaboration.
He faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The Security Service of Ukraine detained an 18-year-old Kyiv resident suspected of working for Russian intelligence services and coordinating one of the massive attacks on Kyiv on May 24. According to the investigation, after the shelling, he gathered information about the consequences of the strikes and targets near the Ministry of Defense to pass it on to the enemy.
