In the Lviv region, 43 people were poisoned after spending time at a lake

In the Lviv region, 43 people were hospitalized after contracting an acute intestinal infection following a vacation at Lake Zadorozhne. Among those affected were 38 children.

All of the patients were at the lake between June 26 and July 1, primarily at the public beach in the Trostyanets community. The youngest patient is only one year old.

Preliminary laboratory tests did not detect any viruses in samples from the patients or in the lake water. However, bacteriological tests are still ongoing. Swimming in the lake is temporarily prohibited.
