A 17-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident in the Lviv region; his younger sister was hospitalized
A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Stryi District of Lviv Oblast on the night of July 26–27. A 17-year-old driver was killed when a passenger car collided with a motorcycle, and his 14-year-old sister, who was a passenger, was injured.
The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in one of the villages in the Stryi District. According to preliminary findings from the investigation, a 24-year-old local woman, while driving a Skoda Fabia, failed to yield to an oncoming Geon motorcycle—driven by a 17-year-old resident of Novy Rozdol—while making a left turn to enter a yard.
As a result of the collision, the young man sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
His 14-year-old sister, who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle, sustained moderate injuries. The girl was hospitalized.

Law enforcement officials have opened a criminal case regarding the accident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of traffic safety rules resulting in the death of a person.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway. Law enforcement officials are determining all the circumstances and causes of the fatal traffic accident.
