In Mykolaiv Oblast, a military officer has been charged with the loss of military supplies worth over ₴3.5 million
Officials from the State Bureau of Investigations have notified the former supply platoon sergeant of a military unit in the Mykolaiv region that he is under investigation.
Due to improper performance of his official duties, the military unit lost food supplies worth over 3.5 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, the official failed to ensure proper storage conditions for food at the military unit’s warehouse, which led to the disappearance of a significant amount of food.
Law enforcement officials determined that, due to official negligence, canned goods, vegetables, and dry ration packs intended to supply military personnel during combat missions were lost.
As a result, the state suffered losses of over 3.5 million hryvnias.
Currently, the servicemember continues to serve in another military unit, where he holds the position of driver.
He has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—negligent attitude toward military service under martial law, resulting in serious consequences.
The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment for up to eight years.
The State Bureau of Investigations reported that measures are underway to recover the losses incurred by the state and to establish all the circumstances surrounding the loss of the military unit’s property.

The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of food supplies that were intended to support Ukrainian troops during combat operations.
