In the Odesa region, a brightly colored firetail flew into the inspectors' building while migrating to Africa

At the “Tuzly Estuaries” National Nature Park in the Odesa region, a common redstart accidentally flew into the inspectors’ building. The bird was spotted during its fall migration, as it was heading to Africa for the winter along with other birds.

Ivan Rusev, Ph.D. in Biology and head of the park’s research department, shared a video featuring the unusual guest.

According to the scientist, tens of thousands of birds are currently migrating through the “Tuzly Estuaries” every day. They fly over the sandbar from dawn to dusk, heading to their wintering grounds in equatorial Africa.

The common redstart is a small bird, about 15 centimeters long, with bright plumage. This time, while chasing insects, the feathered visitor flew into the inspectors’ building at the border of the “Tuzlivska Amazon.”

The bird was examined and then released back into the wild, allowing it to continue its migration.
