In the Poltava region, a TCC official was detained for accepting a $7,000 bribe
In the Poltava region, an official from one of the Territorial Military Commissariats (TMC) and a joint venture was exposed; according to the investigation, he demanded $7,000 to help a man subject to military conscription evade being placed on the wanted list and be assigned to a rear-echelon unit.
Law enforcement officials established that in July 2026, the official learned that the man was wanted for failing to report to the military registration and enlistment office. He then offered, for a fee, to influence the military’s decision regarding the man’s future service.
The official claimed that he had connections with military personnel at a unit in Poltava and could facilitate the man’s assignment to a position that would not involve direct participation in combat operations or the performance of tasks outside the unit. According to him, this was also supposed to help have the man’s name removed from the wanted list.
In September, the suspect received the full amount, after which he was detained. He was notified of the suspicion that he had received an unlawful benefit in exchange for influencing the decisions of authorized persons, combined with extortion.
The court imposed a pretrial detention order on the official, with the possibility of bail. Under the charged offense, he faces up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
