An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 was recorded in the Poltava region
On the morning of July 7, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6 occurred in the Poltava region. The tremors were weak and, according to experts, posed no danger to the population.
According to the Main Center for Special Monitoring, the earthquake occurred at 5:26 a.m. in the Myrhorod district near the Lokhvytsia territorial community. The epicenter of the tremors was located at a depth of 7 kilometers, and their magnitude was 2.6 on the Richter scale.
The Main Center for Special Control noted that, according to the classification, this earthquake falls into the category of imperceptible earthquakes, meaning that its tremors are usually not felt by people and do not cause damage or other negative consequences.
The Poltava region is not among Ukraine’s most seismically active regions, but minor earthquakes are periodically recorded there. Most of them have a low magnitude and are detected only by specialized seismological instruments.

Experts emphasize that such underground tremors are a natural geological phenomenon and do not indicate a threat of a stronger earthquake in the near future.
This was reported by the Main Center for Special Control.
As a reminder, the death toll in Venezuela has risen following two powerful earthquakes—3,535 people have died.
