An 11-year-old boy died at a transformer substation in the Carpathian region
In the town of Tlumach, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, rescue workers recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy from the structures of a transformer substation.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
The child suffered a fatal electric shock while at the high-voltage facility.
Law enforcement and relevant agencies are currently investigating the circumstances and causes of the minor’s death.
Preliminary information suggests that the boy may have entered the substation’s premises while playing, unaware of the deadly danger posed by the power facility.
Power utility workers and rescue personnel once again remind the public that energy infrastructure facilities are under constant high voltage.
It is strictly prohibited not only to enter such structures but also to approach them or attempt to climb their external structures.
Experts urge parents to keep a closer eye on their children’s activities, especially during school breaks and weekends.
Explaining safety rules near power lines and substations should become a regular topic of conversation in every family, because the cost of a mistake is a human life.
As a reminder, a teenager died in Kyiv after falling from a commuter train.
Also, in the Ternopil region, a man died during a landslide.
