Five measles outbreaks have been contained in the Carpathian region
Medical professionals in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast have contained five measles outbreaks. In particular, they managed to contain the spread of the disease in the Deliatyn community.
Ruslan Savchuk, director of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, announced this on Facebook.
“As of today, we have a clear picture of measles incidence in the Carpathian region. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of epidemiologists and medical professionals, the spread of the infection has been halted. Of the six identified outbreaks, five have already been completely eliminated. Currently, the last active outbreak has been localized in the Deliatyn community, where specialists from our Center are conducting enhanced monitoring and implementing necessary anti-epidemic measures,” Savchuk noted.
According to him, 121 cases of measles have been registered in the region since the beginning of the year. More than 80% of the cases involve children.
“Almost all patients (97.5%) received the necessary inpatient care at healthcare facilities in the region,” Savchuk added.
It is noted that the highest number of cases has been recorded in the Nadvirna and Ivano-Frankivsk districts.
