In the Rivne region, a man is suspected of fatally beating a friend
Police informed a resident of the Sarny District that he was suspected of the intentional murder of a friend whom, according to the investigation, he beat to death. The suspect is in custody and faces 8 to 15 years in prison.
On August 16, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a 32-year-old resident of the village of Ostky contacted the police to report that he had found his 43-year-old friend in his home with no signs of life. According to the caller, he did not know what had happened.
An investigative team, forensic experts, and operatives worked at the scene. During the examination of the body, law enforcement officers discovered numerous physical injuries.
According to the medical certificate, death resulted from blunt combined trauma to the chest and abdomen, with multiple injuries to internal organs, which caused massive blood loss and traumatic shock.
During the pretrial investigation, operatives determined that the complainant was involved in the crime. The day before, the men had been drinking alcohol together with another acquaintance. Later, at the 43-year-old’s residence, a dispute arose
between them over money, as the victim had sold items belonging to the suspect.
During the altercation, the 32-year-old man brutally beat his friend and left the house. He later returned, found the victim showing no signs of life, and reported the incident to the emergency hotline at 102.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect in accordance with legal procedures.
With the approval of the prosecutor’s office, investigators charged him under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional homicide).
The court ordered the suspect to be held in pretrial detention without the right to bail.
