In Rivne Oblast, reports have emerged that a 61-year-old Afghanistan veteran was beaten by employees of the TCC

In the Rivne region, the daughter of Ruslan Faraon, a 61-year-old retired major and veteran of the war in Afghanistan, reported that her father had been beaten by employees of the regional recruitment center. The police have opened a criminal investigation, and the recruitment center has launched an internal inquiry.

According to the man’s daughter, the incident occurred on May 30 in Sarny. She claims that her father was stopped by unknown men who demanded his documents. After he began recording the events on his phone, they allegedly demanded that he stop filming and delete the recording.

The family claims that the man was forcibly put into a car, pepper-sprayed, and physically assaulted, after which he was taken to the Sarny District TCC and SP.

According to his daughter, her father suffered physical and psychological abuse while at the TCC. He was hospitalized following the incident.

The family reports that doctors diagnosed the man with four broken ribs, a pneumothorax, a traumatic brain injury, and signs of strangulation on his neck. He is currently undergoing inpatient treatment following surgery.

The Rivne Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support stated that an internal investigation was launched following the emergence of the information. Officials there assured that if the involvement of military personnel in the incident is confirmed, those responsible will be held accountable.

The Rivne Regional Police reported that they registered a complaint on May 30 and launched a pre-trial investigation under the article on intentional bodily injury of moderate severity.

In Volyn, a TCC official is accused of mistreating a citizen. According to the investigation, during mobilization activities, he may have broken the man’s arm and used a stun gun. The case has been referred to court. 

The SBU detained the head of the Medical Examination Commission in Kropyvnytskyi for selling disability certificates.
