More than 400,000 square meters of pavement are set to be repaired on the Kyiv–Odesa highway — Kuleba
Plans are in place to repair over 400,000 square meters of pavement on the M-05 Kyiv–Odesa highway, of which over 50,000 square meters have already been completed.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, after the winter, this route has become one of the most problematic, but at the same time remains critically important for military logistics, humanitarian transport, and connections to ports.
“That is precisely why it has been designated a priority. Work is already underway,” Kuleba noted.
At the same time, repair work is underway on other key routes in the Odesa region, specifically on highways M-14, M-15, M-16, M-28, M-27, as well as R-72 and R-55.
Since February, over 150,000 square meters of road surface have been restored in the region. About 17 repair crews work on the sites every day.
According to the minister, the pace of repairs in the country has increased significantly: whereas previously 30–40,000 m² were repaired per day, the figure has now risen to 90,000.
In total, since the beginning of the year, about 1 million square meters of roads have already been repaired in Ukraine, which is the highest figure since the start of the full-scale war.
As a reminder, repairing all roads in Ukraine will require up to 50 billion hryvnias.
The Cabinet of Ministers has also funded urgent road repairs, but not all of them.
