In Volyn, a man was sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually abusing young girls
In Volyn, a court found a 44-year-old man guilty of using social media to sexually abuse young girls in Ukraine and abroad.
Juvenile prosecutors from the Lutsk District Prosecutor’s Office in Volyn Oblast fully proved the offender’s guilt in committing cynical crimes against the sexual integrity of children.
By the court’s decision, the offender was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
The investigation established that the defendant had developed a detailed scheme for finding and compromising his victims in cyberspace.
It was proven that the man, having created a fake account of a 16-year-old teenager, gained the trust of the children. The victims, girls aged 12–13, lived not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
To carry out his criminal intentions, the man from Volyn used methods of psychological pressure and emotional manipulation against the teenagers.
During their conversations, using psychological manipulation, he engaged them in discussions about sexual topics and attempted to persuade them to engage in lewd acts and even meet in person.
The children, believing their interlocutor to be their peer, did not immediately realize the real danger.
The scope of the convicted man’s illegal activities was not limited to the territory of the Volyn region or other regions of our country. In addition to victims from Ukraine, the man corresponded with a child living in Lithuania.
During their communication, the man sent the girl pornographic materials, including his own intimate photos.
The criminal proceedings are based on irrefutable evidence gathered by law enforcement officers following authorized searches.
During the searches, correspondence with children containing pornographic images was discovered on the defendant’s mobile phone.
All digital materials found and expert conclusions were added to the case file and fully confirmed the defendant’s guilt.
