In Volyn, a passenger car crashed into a police car; there are fatalities
In the Lutsk district of Volyn Oblast, two drivers were killed and a 20-year-old female passenger in the police vehicle suffered serious injuries as a result of a head-on collision between a Volkswagen Passat passenger car and a vehicle belonging to the Police Security Department.
The accident occurred the previous day around 7:10 p.m. near the village of Dachne after the driver of the civilian car lost control, crossed a solid line, and veered into oncoming traffic. This was reported by the publication "Glavkom," citing the Security Police.
Both drivers died in the hospital’s intensive care unit from multiple fractures and severe injuries. Among the deceased was police officer Andriy Pobochiy, who had served in the department for over 30 years. The injured passenger is currently hospitalized, where she is receiving comprehensive treatment.
In connection with the fatal traffic accident, investigators entered the details into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for violating traffic safety rules resulting in the death of several people. At the scene, the circumstances of the incident were investigated by State Emergency Service rescuers, medical personnel, and an investigative team.

On June 5, a major traffic accident occurred in Kyiv, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to three others. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Vadym Hetman and Ushynsky Streets near Karavaevy Dachi. Two young police officers were killed in this accident.
