In Transcarpathia, 12 people were poisoned after staying at a hotel
In the Zakarpattia region, law enforcement officials are investigating a mass poisoning incident involving vacationers who had stayed at a hotel within a balneological resort in the village of Shayan, Khust District. Twelve people, including eight children, were hospitalized.
According to the investigation, all of the victims were part of a group of high school graduates from Lutsk who were vacationing with their parents. After returning home, they sought medical attention, complaining of acute gastrointestinal disorders. All were admitted to the Volyn Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital, where doctors diagnosed them with acute gastroenterocolitis.
According to the victims, they attribute their illness to the drinking water they received at the hotel. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating all possible causes of the incident, including the quality of water from the well and the pool, as well as other factors. The exact cause of the illness will be determined by a forensic examination.
