A giant honey cake weighing 750 kg was baked in Transcarpathia
Pastry chefs from the village of Suskovo in the Mukachevo District of Transcarpathia have created Ukraine’s largest “Medivnik” cake. The giant dessert weighs 750 kg and covers an area of 23.5 square meters. The record was officially certified by Lana Vetrova, an expert from the National Register of Records of Ukraine, on August 9.
It took 370 liters of sour cream to make the record-breaking cake. The team worked on the dessert for over two months. As a result, the Medivnik is over 15 meters long and about 1.5 meters wide.
The idea to create the record-breaking honey cake came from the owners of a local resort complex, Vasyl Voloshin and his sister Khrystyna Logoyda.
They spent more than two months preparing for the record attempt, and it took 370 liters of sour cream to make the dessert. In the end, the honey cake measured over 15 m in length, about 1.5 m in width, weighed 750 kg, and had an area of 23.55 m².
The record was set in the “Largest Medivnik Cake” category under “Culinary Arts.” The previous record in this category was approximately 11 m².
