In Zhytomyr Oblast, a village council member failed to declare assets worth over ₴46 million
Law enforcement officials in Zhytomyr Oblast have notified a 33-year-old village council member that he is under investigation for allegedly intentionally providing false information in his electronic declarations, amounting to over 46 million hryvnias.
According to the National Police of Ukraine, the official failed to declare real estate, income, and other financial assets in his declarations for the years 2022–2024.
Amount of undeclared assets
- For 2022 – over 10.3 million UAH
- For 2023 – over 24 million UAH
- For 2024 – over 11.8 million UAH
The police note that the evidence gathered indicates that the violation of financial control requirements was intentional.
The lawmaker has been notified of suspicion of declaring false information. The penalty under this article provides for a fine of over 100,000 UAH, community service ranging from 150 to 240 hours, or restriction or deprivation of liberty for up to 2 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to 3 years.
A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, with law enforcement officials establishing all the circumstances of the case and possible additional instances of violations.
As a reminder, in the Vinnytsia region, law enforcement officials have charged a member of the town council. According to the investigation, the official failed to include information about income and assets totaling over 11 million hryvnias in his annual declaration. The circumstances of the case are being established, and investigative actions are ongoing.
