In the Zhytomyr region, firefighters are battling a forest fire in the Drevlyansky Nature Reserve
In the Zhytomyr region, rescue workers and forestry employees are extinguishing a ground-level forest fire on the territory of the “Drevlyansky” Nature Reserve. The fire has spread across approximately 4 hectares.
The fire broke out on August 20. Currently, State Emergency Service specialists are dousing the smoldering forest floor and ensuring a steady supply of water. Forestry workers are creating firebreaks and monitoring the area to detect new hotspots.
A total of 52 rescue workers and foresters, as well as 13 pieces of equipment, have been deployed to fight the fire. Efforts to contain the fire are ongoing.

In Greece, efforts to extinguish a large-scale wildfire west of Athens are continuing for the third consecutive day. The fire has destroyed dozens of homes, and approximately 500 firefighters have been deployed to combat the blaze.
Greek authorities have temporarily suspended outdoor physical labor and certain delivery services in regions where extreme heat is expected. Violators of the new restrictions face fines.
