NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have referred the case of MP Skorokhod to court over an attempt to sell National Security and Defense Council sanctions for $250,000

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) have filed an indictment with the court in the case of People’s Deputy Anna Skorokhod, whom investigators accuse of inciting the provision of $250,000 in illicit benefits in exchange for the National Security and Defense Council imposing sanctions against a rival company. According to investigators, members of the organized group received half of the agreed-upon amount—$125,000—but were unable to pass it on to the officials.

According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the group was led by the current Member of Parliament. Its members offered a business representative $250,000 to arrange for the National Security and Defense Council to adopt a decision imposing sanctions on a rival company. The money was allegedly intended to be handed over to officials who could secure the necessary decision.

To conceal the arrangements, the company representative was asked to sign a receipt for an alleged loan. After receiving $125,000, he was assured that these funds would be transferred to NSDC officials. However, according to the investigation, the money remained with the suspects because they were unable to find anyone willing to carry out the illegal actions.

Skorohod and her accomplices were exposed by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), and the Main Directorate for Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in December 2025. The defendants’ actions were classified under Part 4 of Article 27 and Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Certain materials from this case have already been reviewed by the High Anti-Corruption Court. Specifically, on July 1, 2026, the High Anti-Corruption Court approved a plea agreement with one of the accomplices. He was sentenced to five years of imprisonment with a probationary period and was also ordered to transfer 700,000 hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through United24.

Skorokhod herself remains a defendant at this time, and her guilt has not been established by a court verdict. The court is to make the final determination on the charges brought against her.

Skorokhod, a defendant in the NABU case, is demanding that the recordings from the “Midas” case be made public immediately.

As a reminder, Skorokhod, a member of parliament suspected of corruption, threatened to file complaints with the U.S. and the EU.

Additionally, MP Anna Skorokhod is suspected of extorting a quarter of a million dollars.

Skorokhod appeared for questioning at NABU in connection with a case involving incitement to bribery.
