NABU questioned Umerov in the Mindich case
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov was questioned by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) as a witness in the case concerning the back-office allegedly organized by Timur Mindich.
This was reported by the NSDC Secretary’s press service in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda.
Umerov was summoned to provide testimony in a criminal proceeding opened on the grounds of interference in the activities of a public official.
“The conversation was constructive. Rustem Umerov answered all the investigators’ questions within the limits of procedural law,” the statement says.
This procedural action took place on November 25. No other details were disclosed.
Earlier, NABU Director Semen Kryvonos assured that anti-corruption investigators have not halted the investigation into the “Mindich case” due to any “geopolitical considerations,” and that new materials will be released once all examinations are completed.
As previously reported, NABU audio recordings revealed that Timur Mindich was behind the story involving “Israeli body armor,” into which he allegedly invested “300 million hryvnias,” and he demanded that Defense Minister Umerov “solve the issue.” Umerov verbally agreed during the conversation.
