The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is investigating possible illicit enrichment by the head of the Shyroke community in Zaporizhzhia Oblast

Denis Korotenko, the head of the Shyrokyivska community in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, has become a suspect in a criminal investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) regarding possible illicit enrichment.

This was reported by the authors of the investigation.

According to their data, in 2024, Korotenko purchased a house in the suburbs of Zaporizhzhia and an apartment in Kyiv, registering the properties in his sons’ names. The total market value of the property, according to investigators’ estimates, exceeds 20 million UAH, although officially, some of the assets could have been purchased at a significantly lower price.

It is also claimed that the Shyrokyivska community’s development budget for 2023–2024 increased significantly following the concentration of military personal income tax, and a significant portion of the funds was directed to a limited circle of contractors.

The article also contains allegations of possible corruption schemes, but there is currently no official confirmation of these claims from law enforcement agencies.

As a reminder, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak released new recordings of conversations between sanctioned businessman Timur Mindich and current NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov, in which they discussed new government appointments.

In addition, it is known that Mindich and Umerov discussed where to direct funds from “Project 23.”
