The NABU is investigating allegations that SBU officials pressured experts in the Yermak case

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau has launched a criminal investigation into alleged interference in the work of experts conducting an investigation into the laundering of 460 million hryvnias in connection with the construction of estates near Kyiv. According to investigators, the pressure may have been exerted through unauthorized checks of experts’ records in databases and direct warnings to investigators.

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing a statement by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos.

The investigation is examining evidence of interference by special services to hold those responsible accountable for obstruction of justice. An organized group, which includes the former head of the President’s Office and a former deputy prime minister, is suspected of laundering funds obtained from corruption schemes at PJSC “NAEK “Energoatom.” The total amount of money laundered through a “laundromat” controlled by the defendants in the “Midas” case amounted to nearly $9,000,000.

As part of the investigation, charges have already been filed against seven participants in the scheme, including Oleksiy Chernyshov, for whom bail was set at 120,000,000 UAH. Another suspect, businessman Timur Mindich, has fled to Israel and is facing an international arrest warrant. The construction of luxury residences covering 8 hectares in Kozin took place between 2021 and 2025, involving shell companies to conceal the source of the funds.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office stated that it will ask the court to impose a preventive measure on former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak in the form of pretrial detention, with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of 180 million UAH.

Former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak attributes the charges brought against him to “public pressure on law enforcement agencies” to issue specific procedural decisions regarding him.
