NBU comments on closure of Revolut accounts of Ukrainians: rules are the same for all
The National Bank of Ukraine announced that the closure of Revolut accounts of Ukrainian users occurred due to the company’s lack of official authorization to provide financial services in Ukraine. This highlights that all foreign financial institutions must comply with the same rules and undergo the appropriate licensing procedure.

The NBU emphasised its interest in welcoming large foreign financial operators to the Ukrainian market, but only on condition of compliance with legislation and regulations. Therefore, companies without proper authorization are forced to cease servicing Ukrainian clients.
It is expected that foreign financial services will complete full licensing procedures in Ukraine in the future, ensuring user rights protection and financial system stability.
