A Norwegian lawmaker set out on a bike ride to Kyiv to raise funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Jonas Andersen Saeed, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, has embarked on a bike ride from Oslo to Kyiv to express his support for Ukraine and raise funds to purchase a vehicle for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The politician’s route passes through the countries of Northern Europe and the Baltic states. Yesterday, he arrived in Ternopil, where he met with representatives of the local community. During his journey, Saeed speaks about Russian aggression against Ukraine and emphasizes the importance of continued international support for Ukraine.
According to the Norwegian lawmaker, Ukraine’s security is inextricably linked to the security of all of Europe. He is convinced that if Ukraine were to be defeated, the Russian threat could spread to the Baltic states and Northern Europe as well.
One of the main goals of the bike ride is to raise funds for an organization that has already donated more than 170 vehicles, along with necessary equipment, to the Ukrainian military. Saeed emphasized that, despite Norway’s significant assistance to Ukraine, international support must continue.
“I represent the Norwegian Parliament and speak on behalf of my country: we support Ukraine and will continue to do so. But it was also important for me to personally make this journey—to show that support must come not only in the form of decisions but also through concrete actions,” the lawmaker noted.
For Jonas Andersen Saed, this is not his first visit to Ukraine. He has visited Kyiv at least ten times, and this is his second bicycle trip to the Ukrainian capital.

Norway will allocate approximately $306 million to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system. In addition to financial aid, the country will participate in the development of a joint missile defense system designed to bolster the protection of Ukrainian airspace against Russian attacks.
Norway has called on China to urge Russia to begin negotiations regarding Ukraine.
