The Office of the Prosecutor General has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the clashes in Lviv involving military personnel from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, police officers, and civilians. According to preliminary reports, approximately 200 people were involved in the incident.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

“An investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the incident that occurred in Lviv involving servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, police officers, and approximately 200 civilians,” the office stated.

Currently, two criminal cases have been opened regarding the obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a state of emergency and violence against a law enforcement officer.

According to the prosecutor’s office, on July 8, 2026, on Chervona Kalyna Avenue in Lviv, a group of individuals blocked, damaged, and overturned a service vehicle belonging to servicemen of the Sykhiv District Territorial Defense and Civil Protection Command who were performing their official duties.

“The shoving and aggressive actions against representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued into the night of July 9,” the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

The office noted that police officers arrived at the scene to stop the unlawful actions and stabilize the situation.

“While law enforcement officers were attempting to calm the crowd, some individuals resisted. One of the active participants in the incident attacked the deputy chief of one of Lviv’s district police departments. The law enforcement officer sustained numerous bodily injuries and head trauma,” the statement said.

As of 2:25 p.m., no one had been reported as detained. The prosecutor’s office noted that the investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement is identifying all individuals involved in the unlawful actions.

The National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine have launched a pre-trial investigation into the conflict involving military personnel from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Lviv’s Sykhiv district. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officials have already detained one of the individuals involved in the case.

Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, proposed that the Ministry of Defense establish a working group to review mobilization procedures following the attack on servicemen from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Lviv.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine responded to the clash involving representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center in Lviv, calling any acts of violence against military personnel unacceptable. The ministry emphasized that those responsible for the incident must be identified and held accountable in accordance with the law.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the launch of an internal investigation following the incident in Lviv, where an attack on military personnel from the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC) occurred during mobilization activities.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi confirmed reports of mass clashes between local residents and representatives of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in the city’s Sykhiv district.
