Digitization of employment records: The Pension Fund of Ukraine explains the deadlines

The Pension Fund of Ukraine has updated its data on the implementation of electronic employment records as of April 23. According to the data, the process of digitizing employment records in Ukraine is proceeding at a rapid pace.

Since Law No. 1217-IX took effect in June 2021, 10,698,900 scanned copies of employment records have been submitted to the Pension Fund’s system for conversion to electronic format.

Of this total, employers submitted 6,186,900 documents, and insured individuals submitted 4,512,000.

In total, since the launch of the “Electronic Employment Record Book” service in December 2019, over 11,360,300 scanned paper employment record books have already been submitted via the Pension Fund’s electronic services web portal.

The agency notes that the gradual transition to electronic record-keeping simplifies access to data on work history and reduces the risk of losing or damaging paper documents.

The process of digitizing employment record books is ongoing in Ukraine and is scheduled to be completed by June 10, 2026.

Here is a reminder of the requirements for digitizing employment record books.

The PFU also explained what will happen to the non-digitized work history of Ukrainians.
