The winner of "Battle of the Psychics" found herself embroiled in a scandal over insults directed at the sister of a fallen soldier
The story of the sister of a fallen Ukrainian soldier, who turned to Olena Kurylova, the winner of the TV show “Battle of the Psychics,” has garnered widespread attention. The woman wanted to learn about the circumstances of her brother’s death, but instead of answers, she heard shocking statements about his body, unsolicited advice about having children, and insults.
What is known about the scandal?
Olena Krasvitna said that she is still struggling to cope with the loss of her brother, Hryhorii Krasvitnyi, with whom she grew up after their parents’ early death. The woman believed in esotericism, so she turned to Olena Kurylova to find out the circumstances of her brother’s death (on November 5, 2025, the soldier was killed in the Sumy region). In addition, during the consultation, she wanted answers regarding certain other family matters.
“I was in a very difficult psychological state after his death and was looking for answers to the questions that were tormenting me,” Olena Krasvitna explained in a comment to “UP. Life.”
The consultation cost 12,000 hryvnias. According to excerpts from the conversation, during the session, Kurylova began insistently urging Olena Krasvitna to have a child within the next three years. The “clairvoyant” also claimed that the woman’s partner allegedly had a son whom he didn’t tell anyone about. And when Olena mentioned infertility, the clairvoyant began swearing and told her client to “f**k off.”
During the conversation about the death of Grigory Krasvitny, the “clairvoyant” began to describe in detail the alleged injuries to his body. Olena Krasvitna replied that she had identified her brother’s body, after which the soldier was buried.
Despite this, Kurylova claimed that the man’s body had allegedly still not been found. She also said that Grigory died because he had a “dead energy field from birth,” and his “karma dictated that he die before he could have children.” In reality, however, the deceased has a teenage son.
Later, Kurylova told Olena Krasvitna that the “curse to end the family line” could be broken only if she gave birth to a child in the near future.
The day after the consultation, Krasvitna asked Kurylova to refund the money she had paid. Later, a friend of Olena Krasvitna’s also contacted the “clairvoyant.” He stated that soldiers from Hryhorii Krasvitnyi’s brigade would release a recording of the consultation unless Kurylova apologized, returned the money, and paid 20,000 UAH for psychological counseling.
After that, Kurylova refunded the money for the consultation, but not the full amount—11,950 UAH.
Later, the deceased’s sister learned that Kurylova had filed a police report alleging that she was being pressured. The Kyiv police launched an investigation under Part 1 of Article 355 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—coercion to fulfill civil-law obligations by threatening violence against the victim or their close relatives, or by damaging or destroying their property.
What is known about the criminal case
Natalia Yakovleva, the author of the investigation and host of the channel “The Psychics’ Razor 2,” reported that following her appeal, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak submitted an inquiry regarding the Kurylova case to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to her, the criminal case has now been closed.
“The criminal case regarding the extortion of funds from the ‘severely victimized’ fortune-teller Kurilova has been closed. Vladislav (Chernov—first deputy chief of the Podil Police Department, – “Glavkom”) also offered an apology on behalf of the police to two members of the ‘Razor of Psychics’ team, who became involved in this case because they helped the woman recover the money she paid for a session with the fortune-teller,” the statement reads.
