A man near Kyiv killed his partner's mother and hid the body
In the village of Knyazhychi in the Brovary District, a man is suspected of fatally beating his partner’s 83-year-old mother. According to police, after an argument, he struck the woman several times in the face, and when she died, he carried her body to a wooded area and covered it with grass and branches. The suspect was arrested and is currently in custody.
The 83-year-old woman’s daughter reported her disappearance to law enforcement. She said that her mother had gone missing from her residence in Knyazhychi, Brovary District. Police began investigating where the pensioner might be. During the investigation, they established the circumstances of her death and detained a 50-year-old man. According to investigators, the tragedy occurred in a private home. There, an argument broke out between the man and his partner’s mother.
The woman died from the blows
According to the Kyiv Regional Police, during the altercation, the man punched the woman in the face several times. “Law enforcement officers determined that an argument broke out in a private home between the 50-year-old suspect and his partner’s mother, during which the man struck the woman several times in the face with his fist,” law enforcement officials said.
After the blows, the woman fell to the floor and lost consciousness. She later died at the scene. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating all the details of the altercation and the circumstances leading up to the pensioner’s death.
He hid the body in a wooded area
After the woman’s death, according to the investigation, the man decided to cover up what had happened. He carried the body out of the house and took it to a nearby wooded area. There, he covered it with grass and branches, hoping to conceal the evidence of the crime. Police located the spot where the body was hidden and arrested the suspect.
The man is currently in custody
Investigators informed the 50-year-old man that he is suspected of violating Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The charge involves intentional grievous bodily injury resulting in the victim’s death. The court ordered him to be held in custody as a preventive measure.
If found guilty, the man faces up to 10 years in prison. However, the final assessment of the suspect’s actions will be made by the court. At this time, his guilt has not been established, and the investigation continues to gather evidence and determine all the circumstances surrounding the death of the 83-year-old woman.
