Lieutenant Colonel Yevgen Kochervey has been appointed commander of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade

Lieutenant Colonel Yevhen Kochervey has been appointed the new commander of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstantin Ostrozky.

The appointment was officially announced on the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade’s own media channels.

Previously, the officer served as acting commander of the 141st Separate Mechanized Brigade, and has now taken the helm of a new military unit.

The new appointment comes amid increased attention to the unit from the Ukrainian Armed Forces command. Previously, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi ordered an inspection of the brigade following reports of supply issues.

Specifically, these involved instances of insufficient food supplies to remote combat positions.

Yevhen Kochervey has significant combat experience in countering Russian aggression. He took direct part in defensive and offensive operations in the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.

Under his leadership, units fought heavy battles for Bakhmut and Klishchiivka, and also carried out missions in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

For his combat merits and successful completion of missions, the officer has received recognition at the state level. The new brigade commander is a full recipient of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky.

In addition, the lieutenant colonel has been honored with numerous other state and departmental awards.
