Textbooks for the new school year will begin to be delivered as early as June — Ministry of Education and Science

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is beginning to distribute textbooks for the 2026–2027 school year. In total, the ministry plans to deliver approximately 14 million copies of educational materials to schools, printed using state budget funds.

This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The ministry noted that this year, textbooks will be delivered under a new scheme—publishers will supply them directly to educational institutions. In 2025, this approach was already tested on a portion of the print run, and now it will cover all textbooks, including those for students with special educational needs.

Delivery of textbooks for 9th-grade students will begin in June and is scheduled to be completed by September 1. For 4th-grade students, delivery will begin in August and continue through October 1.

The Ministry of Education and Science noted that last year, all planned textbooks were delivered to schools with a delay of approximately one and a half months. Due to delivery delays in 2025, twelve publishers were fined a total of nearly 1.9 million UAH.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated an additional 350 million hryvnias for the modernization of school cafeterias as part of the state program to develop food infrastructure in educational institutions.

Previously, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 1.6 billion hryvnias for the purchase of 460 school buses. Thanks to this subsidy, communities will be able to purchase new vehicles or replace those destroyed as a result of the war.
