Poland has warned that it may sell MiG-29s to Bulgaria instead of transferring them to Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Warsaw is awaiting a response from Ukraine regarding the transfer of MiG-29 fighter jets.

According to him, if an agreement is not reached in the coming weeks, the aircraft may be sold to Bulgaria, which has already expressed interest.

The Polish side hopes to receive modern drone technology from Ukraine and establish cooperation in this area. Negotiations are also ongoing regarding the maintenance and repair of the aircraft.

Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that the MiG-29s are in good technical condition, and Poland’s priority remains reaching an agreement specifically with Ukraine.

On May 21, a new 60-day extension of temporary restrictions on submitting applications for international protection at the border with Belarus came into effect in Poland. These restrictions limit migrants’ right to apply for international protection while crossing the Polish-Belarusian border. The country’s authorities have once again extended these measures.

In Poland, Ukrainians are increasingly being replaced by workers from Asia and Latin America.
