Poland will supply weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces using a €90 billion EU loan

Poland will officially join a large-scale military aid program for Ukraine, funded under the European Union’s newly established credit facility.

Pawel Zalevsky, State Secretary of the Polish Ministry of Defense, confirmed that products from the Polish defense industry will be included in the list of priority purchases for the front lines.

During the EU Security Council meeting in Brussels on May 12, 2026, a representative from Warsaw welcomed the release of a European loan totaling 90 billion euros.

According to him, these funds will be a critically important resource for supporting the “enormous defense efforts” carried out daily by Ukrainian defenders.

Part of the financial package will be directed specifically toward the purchase of modern weapons and ammunition from European manufacturers.

Pawel Zalevsky expressed satisfaction that Polish companies will be able to realize their potential within the framework of this financial instrument, providing Ukraine with the necessary equipment.

The specific list of weapons to be manufactured for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at Polish factories remains confidential for now.

“The information is confidential, so I cannot disclose it, but I am very pleased that Polish companies will also take advantage of this mechanism,” emphasized the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense.

In Warsaw, officials are confident that the national defense sector possesses precisely the technological capabilities that the Ukrainian military most needs.

In addition to the credit line, the Polish side continues to insist on activating other support mechanisms.

In particular, Poland is awaiting the final release of funds from the European Peace Fund, whose operations have long been paralyzed due to a veto by Hungary.

Poland allocated the entire EU loan for rearmament even before receiving the funds

The Polish government has decided to challenge the European Union’s trade agreement with South American countries in the Court of Justice of the European Union.
