Mykhailo Matsykh, a Distinguished Coach of Ukraine who trained a number of renowned Ukrainian boxers, has died at the age of 92. The news was reported by the Ukrainian Boxing Federation.
Mykhailo Matsykh dedicated his life to coaching and the development of Ukrainian boxing. Among his protégés were Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko, Alina Shaternikova, and other athletes who represented Ukraine on the international stage.
The Ukrainian Boxing Federation called Matsykh’s death a great loss for Ukrainian sports and expressed condolences to his family, friends, students, and colleagues.
