Army corps officials are suspected of extorting money from soldiers

In the Kharkiv region, law enforcement officials have exposed three high-ranking logistics officials from an army corps who organized a scheme to systematically extort money from their subordinates.

The military personnel face severe punishment for abuse of office and extortion under martial law.

The investigation has identified the exact group of individuals involved in the illegal activities within the military unit.

The head of logistics—the deputy corps commander, the head of the logistics department at headquarters, and an officer in the logistics planning and organization department—were notified of the charges.

Law enforcement agencies have documented instances of extortion of illicit benefits carried out by officials responsible for logistical support.

According to the investigation, the suspects created conditions under which subordinate military personnel were forced to hand over a portion of their pay.

Urgent investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the criminal offense and the exact amount of damages caused.

Investigators are examining the possible involvement of other officials in this corruption scheme within the army corps.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
