An electricity supplier for Kyiv's kindergartens will face a lawsuit over damages amounting to 1.8 million hryvnias
A director of a private company will stand trial in Kyiv; according to the investigation, he embezzled more than 1.8 million hryvnias in public funds while supplying electricity to preschools in the Desnianskyi District.
The investigation established that in 2023, the Desnianskyi District State Administration’s Department of Education entered into a contract for the supply of electricity to preschool institutions. Subsequently, the supplier initiated additional agreements that included an unjustified increase in the cost of electricity, which violated legal requirements.
As a result of these actions, the Kyiv city budget suffered losses totaling more than 1.8 million hryvnias.
An indictment against the company’s director has already been filed with the court. A case against an official from the Education Department who signed the relevant supplementary agreements is also pending in court.
