Poturaev decided to resign from his seat in parliament before the end of his term

Mykita Poturaev, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy and a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” faction, announced the early termination of his parliamentary mandate.  He asked his colleagues to consider his resignation immediately.

This was announced during a session of the Verkhovna Rada.

Speaking from the parliamentary rostrum, Poturaev said he had already submitted the relevant statement to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. Poturaev did not specify the reasons for his decision to resign from his parliamentary seat during his speech.

Mykita Poturaev was elected to the Verkhovna Rada of the 9th convocation in 2019 on the “Servant of the People” party list (No. 97). In parliament, he chairs the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy and serves as head of the Verkhovna Rada’s permanent delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

The issue of the early termination of his powers must be considered and approved by the Verkhovna Rada through a corresponding resolution.

As a reminder, the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada recommended that members of parliament vote to appoint Serhiy Koretskyi as Prime Minister of Ukraine.

On July 16, a protest began in downtown Lviv against the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

A protest is taking place in Kyiv against the removal of Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine, along with the entire government. More than a thousand people have gathered on the square next to the Ivan Franko Theater, not far from the Office of the President of Ukraine.
