"I wish him all the best": Rutte commented on Fedorov's resignation
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the change in Ukraine’s defense minister will not lead to significant changes in Kyiv’s military strategy.
In an interview with the dpa news agency, he noted that he expects the Ukrainian Armed Forces to maintain their consistent course. According to Rutte, the Ukrainian army is currently performing better on the front lines than it did at the beginning of the year, while Russian troops are advancing slowly and Ukraine has been able to launch counterattacks in certain areas.
The NATO Secretary General also highlighted Ukraine’s long-range strikes against Russian energy and industrial infrastructure.
Commenting on Mykhailo Fedorov’s resignation, Rutte noted that he had a good working relationship with him.
“I had a good working relationship with Mykhailo Fedorov. I wish him all the best, and his successor will undoubtedly continue on this path,” he said.

As a reminder, on July 16, rallies in support of Mykhailo Fedorov took place for the second time that day in Kyiv, Lviv, and Lutsk following reports of his resignation as defense minister. Participants called on the authorities to continue the reforms that have been started and to transparently select new leadership for the Ministry of Defense.
Russian Z-bloggers reacted positively to Mykhailo Fedorov’s dismissal as Ukraine’s defense minister, claiming that this could allegedly weaken the Ukrainian army.
