The SBU responded to activists' concerns regarding the purchase of the publication Babel
The Security Service of Ukraine reviewed a complaint filed by the “Stop-Parasite” Civic Initiative regarding the possible laundering of funds by sanctioned oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi in circumvention of the economic restrictions imposed on him.
Previously, activists had notified law enforcement that Oleksiy Babenko, the owner of Vyriy Industries LLC, may have purchased the online publication “Babel” from Kolomoyskyi using what were effectively public funds. According to the initiative, this money was received as an advance payment from the “Defense Procurement Agency” for a batch of FPV drones.

The official response from the security service was made public by the coordinator of the civic initiative, Volodymyr Boiko. The document, signed by Yevhen Talantov, First Deputy Head of the SBU’s Department for the Protection of National Statehood, states that the information set forth in the letter has already been taken into account by the relevant units of the Security Service of Ukraine in their operational activities. The agency also assured that, should grounds provided for by law arise, the necessary legal measures will be taken.
