The prosecutor's office has filed charges against a man who raped his 14-year-old stepdaughter in the Vinnytsia region
A resident of the Khmilnytskyi district in the Vinnytsia region is set to stand trial on charges of systematically raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter.
Prosecutors from the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor’s Office have already completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted the indictment to the court.
The perpetrator faces a lengthy prison sentence for the crime.
The investigation established that the accused had been living for a long time as a family with his common-law wife and her two minor children—a daughter and a younger son.
The horrific crimes took place between January and February 2026, when the man was alone with the girl. The suspect raped the child four times in the morning, when the mother had already left for work and the younger brother was still asleep.
To conceal his illegal actions, the man systematically subjected the victim to severe psychological pressure. The rapist threatened the girl with kicking her and her family out of the house or creating unbearable living conditions for the entire family.
Out of panic and fear of her stepfather, the child kept silent about what she had endured for some time, until she realized in March that she was pregnant.
The daughter finally mustered the courage to tell her mother everything, and her mother immediately sought help from law enforcement and medical professionals.
The police promptly detained the suspect and, by court order, placed him in custody, where he remains today.
With the rape victim’s voluntary consent and her mother’s official consent, doctors performed a procedure to terminate the pregnancy.
