The SBU and the Prosecutor General's Office have announced new charges against Kolomoyskyi

The Security Service of Ukraine, in conjunction with the Office of the Prosecutor General, has announced that businessman Ihor Kolomoyskyi is facing new charges. Details of the case have not yet been disclosed.

This was reported by Suspilne, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the sources, the case involves embezzlement of funds from PrivatBank amounting to hundreds of millions of hryvnias.

What is known about cases related to Kolomoyskyi

In September 2022, Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities notified eight individuals involved in a criminal investigation of charges related to the embezzlement of funds from PJSC "Ukrnafta," one of whose shareholders is the Privat Group, which is linked to Ihor Kolomoyskyi, amounting to over 13 billion hryvnias. Among the suspects are the former chairman of the board of Ukrnafta; the former deputy head of the company’s department for the sale of oil, gas, and oil and gas refining products; the former head of Ukrnafta’s department for monitoring the accounting and supply of oil and petroleum products; and the former directors of five commercial enterprises.

On November 7, the state seized the assets of five strategically important enterprises, including "Ukrnafta" and "Ukrtatnafta." Meanwhile, in November 2022, Russian authorities arrested businessman Ihor Kolomoyskyi and Privat Group co-owner Hennadiy Boholyubov in absentia for allegedly embezzling 800,000 tons of Russian oil.

Kolomoyskyi also claimed that the expert analysis presented in a Kyiv court was falsified.

Kolomoisky will remain in pretrial detention until May 1.

As a reminder, the court ruled that the attempted assassination of Kolomoyskyi would not be investigated.
